The plain rules for selling a device to BuyBack Direct.
Who can sell
To sell a device you must be at least 18, be its legal owner and show a valid government issued photo ID. By selling, you confirm the device is not stolen, blacklisted or the subject of any legal dispute.
Device condition
- Tell us about any account lock, balance owed or other issue before the sale. We may still buy the device, including for parts, at our discretion.
- It should be reset to factory settings. We can help you do this in store.
- It should work, unless you tell us otherwise before the sale.
- Any accessories included in the deal must be handed over at the time of sale.
We may decline a device, or adjust our offer, if it does not meet these requirements.
Offers and payment
Offers are made in store after we check the device. The amount depends on the model, condition, demand and current market value. Payment is made at the time of sale, in cash or another method agreed in store.
All sales are final
Once you accept an offer and sign our seller record, the sale is final. We do not return, buy back or exchange devices after the sale.
Your data
We run data wiping software on every device after we buy it. Before you sell, you are responsible for backing up and removing your own data, including photos, files, saved passwords and accounts, and for removing any SIM or memory card. We are not responsible for data left on a device.
Records we keep
For every purchase we record the seller's name and signature, ID type and number, a description and serial number of the device, and the amount paid. We keep these records for up to five years, or longer where the law requires.
Our right to refuse
We may refuse any purchase at our discretion, ask for more proof of ownership, and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in place at the time of your sale applies to it.
